Rupee sheds 01 pasia against US dollar
ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP):Pakistani Rupee on Monday lost 01 paisa against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs 278.39 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 278.38.
However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs 277.25 and Rs 279.85 respectively.

SBP to remain closed on Wednesday
KARACHI, Apr 29 (APP):The State Bank of Pakistan and all the banks will remain closed on Wednesday, May 01, 2024 on the occasion of Labour Day.
The central bank, in a statement issued here on Monday, announced that “State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on May 1, 2024 (Wednesday) being public holiday on the occasion of Labour Day, as declared by the Government of Pakistan.”

Gold rates decrease by Rs 500 per tola to Rs 243,900
ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP):The per tola price of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 500 and was sold at Rs 243,900 on Monday compared to its sale at Rs 244,400 on last trading day.
The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also decreased by Rs 429 to Rs 209,105 from Rs 209,534 whereas the prices of 10 gram 22 karat gold went down to Rs 191,680 from Rs 192,072, the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

Govt set to declare education emergency
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to announce an education emergency for four years to tackle the education crisis in Pakistan, ARY News reported on Monday.
Sources said that the prime minister would officially declare education emergency in the country in a ceremony set to take place tomorrow (Tuesday).
The ceremony would be attended by all chief ministers and education ministers of all four provinces.
