ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has launched cashless payment facilities at passport offices, providing a major facility to citizens across the country.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said citizens applying for passports will no longer have to endure lengthy queues or spend hours waiting to make payments.
He noted that the initiative was launched under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and credited his team for successfully implementing the reform.
Naqvi said the move is part of broader efforts to make government services quicker, more transparent, and more convenient for the public. He stated that more improvements are in the pipeline and expressed confidence that additional milestones will be achieved in the future. He also praised the passport department staff for their work in completing the initiative.
Following the launch of the cashless fee payment system, many citizens are now seeking guidance on how to use the QR code for making online payments.
To assist users, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has released a step-by-step video guide for the public. The process is designed to be simple and user-friendly, similar to NADRA’s digital service approach.
